We have received the following request, which we would like to share:

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Kitchener-Waterloo parishes is asking for your help. Every spring, we collect food and other supplies, to send to Baker Lake, a community in Nunavut. The initiative is called “North of 60”. With schools and churches closed, we have not been able to easily collect supplies from the broader community. With your help, we are hoping we can continue to assist the community of Baker Lake, Nunavut, through financial donations sent through CanadaHelps. You can visit our campaign page at the link below. All money raised as part of this campaign will be used to purchase food from wholesale grocery suppliers, and to assist in the cost of shipping the food to Baker Lake. You will receive a tax receipt from CanadaHelps for your donation. Thank you in advance for helping to address food insecurity in the north.

It is hard to believe that the 2019-2020 school year has come to a close.  This has been, to say the least, a very eventful year, and one that none of us will ever forget.  From all of the staff of St. Matthew school, we wish each and every one of you a safe and healthy summer!  To our Grade 8 Graduates, Congratulations, we will miss you next year.

Please continue to monitor Newswire, as well as your email for Messenger broadcasts from the school, as we will be keeping you as informed as possible as we receive information on Re-opening in September.

God Bless,

G. Johnstone
