As the school year begins to wind down, I would like to take this opportunity to share some news with you about the upcoming school year of 2018-2019.
To begin with, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the families and students in the St. Matthew community. This school year will be my last as the principal of this amazing school community. Effective September 2018, I have been reassigned to Holy Spirit CES school in Cambridge. As excited as I am to begin a new chapter and challenge in my career and life, I am sad to be leaving such a vibrant and incredible school community. I have had the privilege of being the principal of St. Mathew CES for the last 5 years and truly feel blessed and honored to have had this opportunity. I wish all students, families and staff continued success and blessings moving forward.
Please join me in welcoming Gilda Johnstone, as the newly appointed principal of St. Matthew CES, effective September 2018. Mrs. Johnstone is currently the principal at St. Josephine Bakhita in Brampton, with the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board.
We also welcome Alison Harris, Janelle Barbosa and Melissa Harnock who will all be joining the teaching staff at St. Matthew next year!
I would also like to take the time to say goodbye to an amazing group of educators who will be leaving St. Matthew school and moving into new positions and journeys in their lives. They are valued members of our school community and will be missed.
We say goodbye to Mrs. Godin as she retires from a remarkable teaching career. We wish Mrs. Godin all the best as she begins this new journey in her life.
We say goodbye to Mrs. Huehn and Mrs. Wand who are moving on to pursue other opportunities.
We wish Mrs. Brewer much joy as she departs on her maternity leave.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives, education and spiritual growth over these last five years.
