Here in Canada, we are very lucky to have access to clean and safe water. However, there are many countries in the world that do not have safe access to clean water.
The Wildcats Care team has put together a Water Walk to actively participate and raise awareness about global water issues. On Friday April 27th (this Friday) St. Matthew School is going to walk to raise awareness for global water issues. The Junior and Intermediate classes will take steps to make a difference for global communities living without safe drinking water.
Each Junior and Intermediate class will have a chance to walk some laps around the school and to walk in solidarity with those that have to walk a long way to get water everyday. While walking, students will have an opportunity to carry containers of water during one of their laps.
We will keep track of how many kilometers we walk to show our support in helping others get access to clean water.
This event is active participation, donations are not necessary.
Thanks for your support Wildcats! Let’s get walking on Friday!
